What is Cosplay?

Cosplay, short for "costume role-play", is a performance art in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea. Often drawn from Japanese Manga or Anime, but recent trends have included American cartoons, sci-fi/fantasy, comic books, graphic novels and video games.
